February 2020

The month of February brought some great opportunities as well as every day occurrences in our family photos.

The Calvin Payne Family
Calvin:  Teaching Afton, our granddaughter, the Plan of Happiness via
FaceTime.  I used felt cut-outs from my mission to the
Northwest Mission 50 years ago.

Jane:  Atlas took me for a ride on his tote-gote.
We crashed, but lived to tell the tale.

The Trevor Payne Family
Trevor and Lolli:  We were married in Hawaii
this month.  We are standing with
Lolli's mother and step-father.

The Trent Payne Family
Trent: I won a couple costume contests.

Crisa: Relaxing with our little girls.

Brena: First time driving the truck.

Ethan:  I joined the Army.  I will enter basic training after I graduate in May.

Lexi: Lexi and Jackson

Kiara

The Ray Follett Family

Ray and Atlas snowboarding.

Cali, Levin, and Atlas snowboarding.

Inman:  Left behind from snowboarding.

The Abe Payne Family
Abe:  Swinging in the park with Henry and Hazel while Grace
does a temple session.  (Next month I'll attend the session while
Grace and the kids play.)

Grace: Abe and Henry went to the Jurassic World show in NYC, so
Hazel and I planned out a girls night and watched frozen 2 and ate lots of treats!

Hazel: With friend Evelyn at ballet

Henry: Learning about dinosaurs at the Museum of Natural History.

The Ty Payne Family
Ty: Mountain biking is just as fun in the rain, but a little bit dirtier.

Michelle: I got this lovely picture in the mail today.
Thank you polizei for thinking of me.

Afton: I snuck this note in Dad’s lunch today.

Eliza: Mom has been playing the piano a lot more lately
so I joined her for a duet.

Mom: “How did Calvin get so crazy? Did you teach him?”
Kathryn: “No. But I got my crazy from Pepsi.”
(I really am not sure she’s ever even had any Pepsi in her life)

This is the spot where Calvin insists on drinking his morning and evening milk.
It is also the spot where he patiently (sometimes) waits for the milk to warm up.
And if the rug isn’t there, he won’t drink until it is back where it belongs.

The Joe Nehila Family
Joe: A fun family day at the Asian grocery store and a park in Savannah.

Ande:  Zeph marking “Lord” and “God” during nightly scriptures.

Zeph:  Zeph and Ezra and Speckles
(Ezra’s frog and sometimes-naughty alter-ego)
sharing a shirt until they can get along.

Ezra: Ezra in the hospital with asthma. He’s taking care of Speckles after I (Ande) sat on him.

Winnie:  With Molly at the park. Molly practices climbing and
core strength with a tunnel at physical therapy. Winnie helped her find one
at the park and once Molly got in, she wouldn’t get out.

Molly:  Caught eating chips in the laundry room with Ezra.

And that's a snapshot of our month.

January 2020.

After an 18 month hiatus, we're back.  I missed not documenting our family on a regular basis.  The parameters have changed a little on the monthly posting of the whole family.  The pictures are taken anytime during the month rather than just on the 20th of the month.

Calvin:  This month I went to New York to visit Abe's family
and help him build a kitchen table.

Jane:  I spent time preserving memories this month.  I realized we should
restart our monthly postings.

Michelle: Don’t let them decontaminate us! (Monsters Inc.) (Disneyland Paris)

Afton: Our last stop at Disneyland was at Five Guys. I noticed a bulletin board
with thank you notes, blank cards, and crayons. I decided I needed to make my contribution.

Calvin: The sacrifices of a two-year-old going
to Disneyland with his family.

Eliza: Look out below!

Ty: Playing Paratroopers (or as Calvin says, “Guys”) with Calvin and Afton.

Kathryn: I was just barely too short for Crush’s Coaster. But I was a good sport
and got to go on a magic carpet ride, ride in Cars cars, and
see a Frozen show with Mom and Calvin instead.

Cali: I am snowboarding all by myself. Though it was hard to
pull off, I'm so glad I did it. It has felt so good.

Levin and Atlas:  The Follett Family Reunion
included Harry Potter World.

Inman:  The Follett Family Reunion included DisneyWorld

The Follett Family Reunion included a cruise.

Ray:  Atlas and Inman practicing snorkeling.

Joe and Ande: Having a roaring good time on New Years Eve

Zeph and Ezra:  Beach day.

Ezra, Zeph, Winnie: Ande thought the kids would naturally
understand to only go in the water up to their boots.
They didn’t. All were soaking, but happy.

Zeph

Ezra’s birthday celebration at school—many of the kids raised
their hands to say why they loved Ezra. Ande made Pokémon
cookies for him to pass out to his friends.

The missionaries playing Blokus with the kids

Ande: Fixing our dishwasher using Ezra’s headlamp,
the continuity tester Dad bought me, and with Joe for moral support.

Crisa and Ethan:  Ethan joined the Army (1-10-20)

16 Pictures for June 18, 2018 (or thereabouts)

We have been doing this monthly picture tradition for almost 8 years!  Some traditions stay and some go, but when I took a family poll last month the vote was to continue sharing a picture each month.

"Traditions, traditions, without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as  . . . as . . . as a fiddler on the roof."

Calvin:  Last week I went with Ray, Levin, and Atlas to Alaska on the annual Follett Family
salmon fishing trip.  It was beautiful and we had a great time.

Calvin:  I didn't even have to repack my suitcase from the Alaska trip.
I just loaded the pickup and went to girls' camp for the week.

Jane:  It's like feeding a calf when you feed Inman a bottle.

Ray:  Follett Family salmon fishing trip in Alaska.

Cali and Inman:  While Ray, Levin, Atlas, and my dad were in
Alaska salmon fishing, Inman and I went on walks with Grandma.

Levin:  On the Follett Family fishing trip in Alaska.
We went to see a glacier on Uncle Mark's airboat.

Atlas:  On a 5 mile wide and 25 mile long glacier in Alaska.

Ty: I taught the girls how to leg wrestle tonight.

Michelle: Super flattering picture of me leg wrestling Afton.

Afton: My mom says Eliza and I can’t get things off the shelf in the closet.
Challenge accepted

Eliza: Just finding Waldo.

Kathryn:  I loved bearing testimony during Family Night.
In fact, I did it three times.

Calvin: I get really excited watching the Roomba.

Joe and Zeph:  Playing War and watching the World Cup.

Zeph, Winnie, and Ezra:  Making family night treats.

Zeph, Ande, Winnie, and Ezra playing at the beach.
(Not taken on the 18th...but it proves I exist.)
