Homemaking Tip--More Than You Bargained For

Photobucket

I just knew when we got this water-trough of a sled last winter that we'd use it for more than holding people in the snow, and I was right:

It's perfect and keeps everything nice and cool:

I think it would make a great bathtub on a camping trip, too. (I'll bet you can't wait for that picture.)

What would you use it for?
Would you mind leaving us a tip of something that you use for more than what it was intended?

I would use it for weeds...I bet I could fit a LOT of weeds in there. But I do love the cooler aspect of it. :)

As far as more than what it was intended...we use a big camping tarp to hang and project movies on in the backyard. If we hang it up mid-day, the heat pretty much gets all the wrinkles out. A bed sheet would work as well!

That "sled" did NOT make a good sled. It made me honestly fear for my life... 3 times. It looks SO durable, that men decide it NEEDS to be pulled behind a truck. That face is a face of real terror. I almost died 2 times and even considered ditching the sled, until I reasoned THAT would be SURE death.
Hope you have fun at Jury Duty today. I hope you get picked. IF they only knew how badly you want picked...

That is a serious container! How many bags of ice did it take to accommodate those watermelons and drinks?

Great idea, Jane! I would use it as a kiddie pool . . .

Holy cow, that is a LOT of watermelon! I love the idea of having cold drinks in it.

I know I have repurposed things, but I can't think of anything right now...

All my repurposing deals with furniture...a bookshelf on a desk for a credenza, a dresser as a side table or dvd holder, an old cabinet door painted and used as a chaulkboard. My favorite thing to do is repurpose! I love your sled/cooler. Great idea! I'm still looking for an old window to repurpose. :)

Why am I blanking? I am always using things for other purposes, and right now I cannot think of a single one. Hmmm. Let's blame 'pregnant brain,' shall we?

Looks like a great home for newborn puppies - too tall for them to climb out, but short enough for mom to escape for a break....or
decorative planter for grandkids to paint and plant something to grow at Grandma's (hint for Cali)

My husband would like you to know that he would use that sled for duck decoys - especially where we live, much sandy soil when there's no snow and a sled like that works well.
