52 Blessings – Full Moon

The full moon has been magical all week.

This week by the 'light of the silvery moon' I went to a high school girls’ soccer game. This week 'by the light of the silvery moon' I went to a high school band concert. This week by the 'light of the silvery moon' the dogs and I walked. Each thing was great in and of itself, but by the light of the silvery moon they were even better.

My favorite thing to do this week by the light of the silvery moon was to kneel and say my prayers while it shone through our windows. It makes a most comforting and reassuring nightlight, plugged in by God himself.

I just talked to Abe and Grace on the phone. They are in Hawaii while Abe is on R & R. Abe said, “Last night we were driving along the shore and the full moon was shining on the ocean. We had the top down on the car and there was a little breeze. It was really beautiful.” It’s that magic of the silvery moon.

I've been loving the moon, too! Friday at the party we attended we got to watch it rise. And then, more often than not, I got distracted from looking for clues while I watched the moon and the clouds.

Oh this picture makes me miss home so badly. I'm glad you got to see the moon all week long.

I like the full moon, too. However, with all our trees around it makes me see shadows, and I SWEAR they're all people sneaking around. Whereas when it's pitch black I don't worry about it because I know any intruders will trip over a million tree roots and potholes in the yard and will yelp long before they get to my door.

I loved picturing you praying by the light of it. I think the moon is the most comforting thing made for this Earth (outside of other people).
I know of the magic a moon has in Hawaii. I remember looking at the calendar 8 months in advance to see if it would be a full moon when you all came for my BYU-H graduation. I think you feel the power of it more there; maybe because you can see it's power in motion... the ocean waves. I love that you notice all the wonderful little things of life, mom. I'm enjoying learning this from you.

Oh, me too!!! I have marveled at the calmness of the full moon rising and falling behind the mountains. Same moon...different locations-Same God...different religions? My sweet nonmember friends, who love God with all their heart, share the same God. Thanks for a gentle reminder Jane!

I shall never look at the moon again without thinking of my dear Jane. Thank you for bringing more thought into the things we take for granted. You make everything beautiful, thoughtful, a blessing, as you can "see" what we don't always see. You shine...you glow...your are always "full" of light and wisdom. Hugs

I love a good full moon and always wish I could get good pictures of it, but I never can (yours is good though).

It was a gorgeous moon. Kathryn commented on it every time we were out. Every time you wrote the line, 'by the light of the silvery moon', it was all I could do to not sing it. Great post.

I can imagine the moon in Hawaii. How great for Abe and Grace.

Beautiful. I can never get a good picture of it, either. How fun to think of you and your loved ones, admiring the same moon.
