52 Blessings -- Sunday Afternoons & Evenings

I like
the nap
the book
the peace
the dinner
the dessert
the popcorn
the conversation
the time with family
the visit to the cemetery
the drive home from church.
I like it all.  It's a great slide into next week.

Sundays are definitely a great way to slide into next week!

Even though I really needed another Saturday this weekend, I also need the peace, rest, and spiritual boost I get each Sunday. I always wonder how people who don't get that are able to function.

We've been running from sun up to sun down today. (An hour early to church for choir, make treats for choir party, make soup and bread for a Christmas recital we hosted, party, hosting, clean up, etc. And throw in drifting snow to make it all a little more stressful.) I feel like I missed Sunday. Church was good, but I needed this day of rest.

Sounds marvelous. I enjoy Sundays much more when I can fit in a nap!

Keith,

Today it is warm, but there is snow on the ground in Rexburg, Idaho. There are Christmas lights up and Christmas trees downtown. It's beautiful and a good time of year to remember all our blessings: you are one of them. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice and willingness to be many miles from home. Know that you are appreciated.

Merry Christmas!

Ryan,

My son-in-law's name is Ryan . . . a good name! He served two tours in Iraq, so it helps me even more to appreciate your sacrifice and service. I teach college classes and today, I will make sure that every student takes a moment to remember your contribution. Know that you are appreciated and folks are thinking of you during this holiday season.

Merry Christmas,

Maverik,

I won't even ask if you've watched Top Gun:) Merry Christmas! Here in Rexburg, Idaho everyone is busily preparing for the holidays. People are shopping and trees are everywhere. It's a happy time of year. It's all possible because of the service and sacrifice of individuals such as yourself. Know that you are thought of and appreciated. I will sled down a sand dune over the Christmas break and yell out your name in tribute!!

Thank you,
