Tuesday Tried It - Let Them Eat Cake.


Doesn't this cake look moist, dense, and rich?  It looks like it tastes incredible.

That was my hope anyway.

Hmmmmm . . . 

Not sure why mine doesn't look so decadent.  

You'll have to imagine the caramel sauce, as we drizzled it as it was served rather than losing it to the cake plate.  

It looks and tastes like ordinary pound cake.  It's not special enough to copy into my cooking journal or even to serve at a bridal shower this evening, which was my hope.  

Instead we'll serve the trusty-true Texas Sheet Cake topped with ice cream balls rolled in toasted coconut and drizzled with homemade chocolate sauce, because I know it'll be moist.

I tried a Pinterest cookie recipe last week and was not impressed, bummer.
