SPT-- Citius. Altius. Fortius.

Today is my last day of summer break and the end of uncomplicated mornings. No more sunning my legs in the porch rocking chairs while talking on the phone, reading a book or eating fresh peaches (or berries) and toast. No more morning walks. No more “no worries, I’ll do it in the morning.” No more morning blogging. No more sleeping in till 6:00. No more showering at 10:00.

Summer is a time of refortification. Here’s to a stronger nine months ahead because of a slower, lower-obligation summer.

How about you, does summer make you stronger or weaker?

Last day of summer also means your last full day with me. I'm sad you are going back to school. I like having you around all day...evne if we do annoy you sometimes. I love you blog Mom.

Great take on the challenge. I haven't done a 'stronger' yet. I hope I'm fortified! School starts next Tuesday!

I'm freaking out...did you say "no more sleeping in till 6:00"?! Wow!

I like the thought of having a stronger 9 months because of the slower 3 of summer.

Very good question. I think summer makes me stronger, but I do take awhile getting a running start. I do appreciate the structure of the rest of the year. Summer does prepare me to gear up for structure.

Hmmm...I'm still thinking about this one. I'm pretty sure that summer is not my favorite time of the year...I don't even remember liking it as a kid. Maybe I should let go of some of my need for structure! :)

Cute photo!

Those are some nice legs you have. Summer does make me stronger. Having fewer obligations helps me mentally prepare for the rest of the year.

I am just the opposite. Save it all up for summer. Then, go, Go, GO! By the end, I need the structure to get back on track. Then, it takes all fall to get ready for the holiday season. Ebb and flow, ebb and flow.

I think you need to be incredibly strong to do what you do, at the level in which you do it. You are strong and I admire your strength. Good luck with the new year!

It is bittersweet...the end of summer...fun to get back into the routine of things...sad to miss all those lazy days!

Summer fortifies me too...I couldn't get through the rest of the year without this little break from routine!

I feel so slothful when I read about you sleeping in until 6! I was extra wasteful and didn't get up until 7:20 today. I hope you're not dragging this afternoon and I hope you had a great first day! Both the kids and I had a great day of getting back into the groove (and we're dragging!).

How was your first day of school? You are the best teacher! Dylan is actually excited about seminary this year. He was up and ready at 8 this morning. I LOVE summer! This one went way toooooo fast!! It so feels like fall today :o(!

Sleeping in until 6:00?? I'm officially frightened. 6:00 is early for me...

Interesting question. I would say that during summer I am not stronger. But perhaps I am stronger during the rest of the year because of it? Good food for thought.
