I suffer from the winter itch. Back in the day I endured the second-trimester pregnancy itch. And though Ande says this is NOT a good visual, it's true, I’m like a cow looking for a barn door or barb-wire fence to rub on when it hits.
A few years ago I found some lotion that is like shortening that relieves some of the misery. Calvin, thoughtful man that he is, put a bottle of this lotion in my sock.
Lotion. It’s a little thing, kind of like ibuprofen, bleach, toast, and vacuums, and I’m so grateful for it because it makes my life more comfortable.
What little thing makes your life more comfortable?

A vacuum with suction! We'd been without one for a while, but after taking the snake to the hose, life is good!
And a washer and dryer. We've done quite a few loads with the family home, and I can't imagine having to heat up water and scrubbing away!
That's a good seasonal gratitude topic. The dry winter air is so hard on hands!
I almost always have dry skin and I think I'm used to it. But when other people see the scales on my legs, I think it grosses them out a bit:)
I could use some of that stuff right about now. My skin is TERRIBLE during the winter and so dry. That stuff looks like my golden bag balm. I LOVE that stuff.
I love my Dove Nourishing Lotion, and I always have on hand (even in my apron pocket at work)my Bistex Fruit Smoothies chapstick. My mom says that my dry lips come from my MS, but whatever the reason, I have come to adore my Blistex chapstick!
Aveeno (should remember to use it daily!), humidifiers, and powered flavor mixes for water (propel or wally's brand). That's what's been working for me today. I have some terribly dry, itchy skin also. Ugh!!!
I'm totally addicted to lotion right now, and put it on my whole body every day. Heaven.
I'm also totally addicted to carmex. I don't wear lipstick, because really, what's the point? I'm always putting on carmex.
Gloves. I cannot do anything outside without my gloves on. My hands are so cold right now, that if I don't have my gloves on, my hands never warm up. No fun.
Winter. Yuck.
hmmm- so many things-
right now I would have to say my contacts!
I need to find a better lotion to use this time of the year. The stuff I have just doesn't cut it long enough, at least not with all the hand washing from changing diapers during the day.
Today the little thing that is making my life more comfortable is moleskin. I burned my thumb over the weekend and have been busy restoring order today and that little layer of comfort is making a huge difference to these hard working hands.
Huh. There's a lotion I've never seen before!
I tend to be like Baloo the Bear -- rubbing my back on door frames and the corners of walls...
Right now my favorite little thing is new cozy socks. Thank you, Santa!
