I do love summer food and what with the grain, dairy and fruit group covered in blackberry, raspberry, peach or apple pie and ice cream it’s even easy to eat healthy.
Here are a half dozen of my favorite summer garden foods:
creamed peas and red potatoes
raspberries
corn on the cob
fresh salsa (made from tomatoes, peppers, onions and cilantro)
summer squash
cucumber and tomato sandwiches
What summer foods do you like best?

Wow, that is a serious basket full of goodness! I have garden envy right now. Fortunately a friend dropped off a bag of green beans, tomatoes and a green pepper from her garden today.
I love corn on the cob, any summer fruits, homemade salsa, ripe tomatoes on sandwiches and burgers and garden beans.
Fresh salsa. BLT's with fresh tomatoes. Kansas cucumbers. Sweet melons. Zucchini bread. Berries - smoothies, cobblers, crisps, slumps, etc, etc, etc.
You are killing my healthy eating resolution I made when I got back from our weekend away. Creamed baby vegetables are a summer must. I must have them this week.
Have you ever added some baby garden carrots to your creamed veggies combo? So yummy. I'm making it tomorrow, and I am already drooling.
I actually love the act of shelling peas. A giant bowl of peas, a shady spot, a nice breeze, maybe a little music...sounds so great.
Oh, summer goodness....
I love fresh peas, watermelon, cherries, strawberries, cucumbers. I'm hungry!
Mom,
HOW do you post a blog a day? You're my hero.
I love you and your garden.

I love raspberries, cherries, and zuchinni and corn on the cob dripping with butter. My garden was eaten by Norwegian caterpillars while I was away so I will just have to dream! (Not that it was even close to as big or wonderful as yours)
Mmmm. Corn on the cob and cantaloupe are my favorites during the summer.
Watermellon! Raspberries, creamed peas and new potatos, sliced tomatos on toast!
summer tomatos...
absolutely my favorite food-pretty much any way possible including sliced open with a scoop of chicken salad.
Wow! I've never had a big enough garden to need a laundry basket for harvesting! And I haven't grown vegetables at all since we got this blasted dog, sniff. I love anything that's harvested from my yard or someone else's, particularly green beans, peas, lettuce, arugula, herbs, tomatoes, zucchini, beets, carrots, corn, leeks, radishes, melons, berries, peaches... well, I guess I love it all.
