Tuesday’s Top Choice

I hardly think my opinion on fashion, entertainment, travel, or dining is of great consequence.  So when I suggest a top choice, you should think of it as if we’ve bumped into each other at the grocery store and I tell you that there is a good sale on flour over on aisle three that you might want to see.  (By the way, not long ago I got 10 pounds of Gold Medal flour for $1.  It was a fluke or it most certainly would have been a top choice topic.)

With that introduction, I have a top choice suggestion for you this week:  Temple Grandin, the movie.

Last night Calvin and I watched the movie for family home evening.  (We also ate little cups of ice cream with hot fudge sauce and I recommend that, too.)  We enjoyed the movie greatly.  In fact, as it neared the end, Calvin said, “This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in I don’t know how long.”  It is a great movie.

It’s the story of Temple Grandin, an author, animal science professor, and leading expert on handling cattle and . . . autism.  The movie portrays Dr. Grandin’s struggle to overcome the difficulties of autism while developing her extraordinary abilities.  The story is inspiring, informative, and it's a movie worth owning.

I’d love to hear what your top choice of the week is – be it laundry soap, book, bowling ball, shoe, song, recipe, fingernail polish, flower bulb, or dog food.

I knew that movie was being made, but I didn't realize it was out - I'll look for it now!

So weird! We were just talking about her in my psych class yesterday. We listened to a lecture she gave on autism, how her brain is different, and how it causes to think differently. It was really amazing.

I heard an interview with her on NPR and it was fascinating! I'll definitely put this movie on my list.

My top choice of the week is the book The Art of Racing in the Rain. Incredible.

It is hard to pick a top choice.
I will go with my three, one of a kind, kids! They are amazing.

I, too, heard a piece on her on NPR. It was a couple of years ago and I've been fascinated ever since.

My pick of the week: fresh pineapple. I bought one Monday and have been loving it. Our Kroger has them on sale, starting tomorrow, 4 pineapples /$5. I'm seriously contemplating buying four of them. I think I could eat that much before it went bad!

Definitely will watch that movie!

My top choice this week is a just-for-fun kind of book - The Secret Lives of Dresses.

My Tuesday's Top Choice is my favorite plant. I just pulled the Venus Fly Trap out of the fridge (it's been hibernating for the winter in there). I planted it in it's terrarium and I think it just might live. I'm pretty good at terrarium plant growing. My other top choice would be Moose Tracks ice cream. That's my other favorite.

i have no top choices...but i have some NOT top choices. 1)the doctor's for a little boy that has had diarrhea for 5 days now...we got the answer of "wait it out" and 2)don't lock your keys in the car at the eye doctor with the spare with your husband at work 45 minutes away and with dinner ingredients in the said car with the keys locked in it...yeah don't do that! Oh but I am loving me some bruno marz and mindy gledhill! oh theirs a top choice...have you heard of Mindy Gledhill, I LOVE her music. she is an indie singer and she is LDS you would probably LOVE her too. Check her out if you haven't already!
