52 Blessings--Candy
The red snack box is empty. The green pottery bowl on the end table in the living room is empty. The red bowl on the top of the fridge only has an old chocolate bunny in it. And when I asked, nobody wanted me to make caramel popcorn (except me). I was almost Sunday evening desperate, but then I saw Grace's box of Easter basket milk duds. She shares. What a blessing.

Mmmmm candy! So nice of Grace to share!
I love caramel corn too but a few Sundays ago I made it for the kids treat to watch a movie with and none of them like it. I'm not sure they are even my kids! They said it's too sweet for their tummy and hurts their teeth. Sad, sad.
I ALWAYS want to make caramel popcorn but Kyle never seems interested either. It hurts my heart a little. I don't want to introduce it to my kids yet though because that just equals a big mess for me. I know- I'm such a fun mom.
I'm a big fan of kettle corn. I can make a reasonable batch-- just barely big enough to share with Chris, but also small enough to polish off myself when I'm feeling determined. Carmel corn is devilish because it makes a huge batch and I'll eat nearly all of it throughout a week (even when it's hard and a hazard to dental work).
I use the kettle corn recipe from Our Best Bites.
So nice to have a candy sharer in the house! You should really have a stash for Sunday nights just in case. :)
What is it about Sunday that makes us want to let loose and have some serious candy!
I try to always plan ahead for a sweet treat on Sunday afternoons. I can't help it.
You are so lucky to have Grace - based on the status of all the other candy places, I might not have shared the last of my supply with you - who knows when they'll be replenished? :)
Good thing you have Grace. My Easter Basket Whoppers are GONE! Ray flew home from work last week and found me asleep in bed with Martha Stewart still playing on the TV. He said I had the box of whoppers tucked under my arm as I slept. When he took them out of my arm, he said I woke up and said, "Wait, I need some more Whoppers." I don't remember, but I think he was telling the truth.
HOWEVER, I do still have some salt water taffy in my cupboard. The only flavors left are peppermint and Neapolitan... that's why they are still there. I'll save them for you (wink).
We had a sad caramel popcorn moment on sunday. I go the popcorn popped, the old maids sifted out, melted the butter in the pot, and then discovered I was out of corn syrup. No carmel corn for us last week.
But buttered was still yummy.
Hooray for finding someone to share!
I can't seem to convince my family to love caramel corn like I do. Silly bunch.
Sunday evenings are the time when I most want to have a good treat.
