Last night was Ty and Michelle’s open house here in Moses Lake . They opened the gifts and cards they received this afternoon. The generosity of friends and family was very humbling. As they opened each gift and card I thought of the people, and their life’s circumstances, and their influence on Ty or Michelle’s life. So many have given so much to launch a new family. I’m telling you, it still makes me want to cry that people would be so kind and giving.
I remember a pewter bread plate I got from our wedding 29 years ago. We still use it. Isabelle L. gave it to us. What is a wedding gift you still remember or use?

I think I can remember every single one of them. People's generosity still makes me want to cry as well. I'm still so humbled that people love me enough they want to help me create a home.
A cook book from my cousin (43 years ago). I have a bowl from my parents wedding and silver tray with cream and sugar bowls from Glenn's parents wedding. My mom taught us to use what we have, so that is what we did.
I remember a whole lot of gifts and who gave them to us. One that probably stands out the most is our waffle iron from a nerd (I say that in the best way possible. We were in almost all of our classes together) from high school. For some reason, getting a gift from a 20 year old peer really stood out to me.
That is humbling, and beautiful. One of Marc's mission companions gave us an immersion blender that we are still using, 20 years later. I think of him every time I use it. One of my grandmother's best friends gave us an entire place setting of our china, so incredibly generous. My aunt gave me some beautiful silk lingerie, I had never felt anything so soft next to my skin. Good memories.
